The Client agrees that, in admitting their dog, The Dog Walking Company has relied on the Client’s representation that their dog has not shown aggression or threatening behaviour toward any person or any other dog. Dogs showing any form of aggression towards other dogs, people or the dog walker will not be walked.

Dogs must wear a correctly fitted collar with a name tag compliant with the local council legislation. It is also law to have them microchipped. I use my own leads when walking your dog.

We are fully insured but we do ask that customers insure their own dogs fully.

The Dog Walking Company offer services where dogs socialise in groups and the Client accepts that during the course of normal dog play and exercise in the forest, their dog may sustain injuries. All dog play is carefully monitored to avoid injury, but scratches, punctures, or other injuries may occur despite the best supervision. The Dog Walking Company will not be responsible for any veterinary fees for any accidental injuries and illnesses caused though play and exercise. The company will not be liable for veterinary fees if any pre-existing illnesses or injuries present themselves while in the care of The Dog Walking Company.

We ask that you contact your vet and let them know that during the time your dog is in our care, should an incident arise we are able to take your dog to the vet and authorise treatment with your consent if we are unable to contact you. The Client authorises the staff of The Dog Walking Company to seek such veterinary advice and/or treatment as they deem necessary; where possible this will be carried out by the Client’s usual/preferred Vet, but this cannot be guaranteed (e.g. in an emergency) and the Client accepts that the staff of The Dog Walking Company may at their discretion use any registered vet. The Client agrees to pay all such costs immediately upon pick-up of their dog, or by agreement with the proprietor.

Full risk assessments are completed and revised daily.

Dogs will get wet, muddy and do occasionally roll in fox poo! The Dog Walking Company makes every effort to clean your dog as much as possible, but we cannot guarantee the dogs full cleanliness or smell-free.

Any dogs coughing will not be walked. Kennel cough is highly contagious. If you hear your dog coughing then please let me know before the walk. The Client accepts that even though their dog is vaccinated against kennel cough there is a chance that their dog can still contract it.

I will not be able to walk bitches in season if I feel it will be unsafe to do so. I do not walk unneutered male dogs unless they are young dogs due to be.

If your dog is in the care of someone else while you are away, please make sure that we have the dog sitters details and the dogs tag has the dog sitters details on it.

During adverse weather we reserve the right to cancel walks at short notice if it would prove dangerous to transport dogs or dangerous for us to walk.

During hot weather, water and the relevant care during exercise will be provided. In extreme heat the walks will be shortened to ensure the dogs comfort or let outs can be arranged. Snow and ice may prevent me from walking your dog but every effort will be made to get to your dog if it is alone, even if it’s just for a toilet break.

I do not work bank holidays or the week of Christmas. I will give you plenty of notice regarding my holiday dates. I typically take 3 weeks holiday, spread out over the year.

The Dog Walking Company reserves the right to change or amend any Terms or Conditions at any time – last updated May 2022.
